01Acceptance of these terms

EXPENDR ("the app", "we", "us") is a family expense-tracking application available as a mobile app and web app. By creating an account or using EXPENDR you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

02What EXPENDR is — and isn't

EXPENDR helps you record and review your family's spending against budgets you set yourself.

• EXPENDR is not a bank, payment service, or financial institution. It never connects to your bank accounts and never moves money.
• Nothing in the app is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Figures, projections, and "safe to spend" estimates are informational only and depend entirely on the data you enter.
• Some EXPENDR Plus features (such as expense auto-detect) suggest entries automatically from your bank alerts. These are best-effort suggestions that can occasionally misread or miss a transaction — always review them before relying on them.

03Your account

You sign in with a Google account or an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. You must provide information that is accurate and that you have the right to use.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. Younger family members may participate only under the supervision and responsibility of a parent or guardian who holds the account.

04Households & shared data

EXPENDR lets you create a household and invite family members with an invite code. By design, members of the same household can see the household's expenses, budgets, categories, and who added each expense.

• Share your invite code only with people you trust. Anyone who enters a valid code joins your household and sees its data.
• The household owner can remove members, regenerate the invite code, and transfer ownership. We are not responsible for disputes between household members or for data shared within a household.

05EXPENDR Plus & purchases

EXPENDR is free to download and use. EXPENDR Plus is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks extra features for your whole household — every member, on every device — with no subscription and no recurring charge.

• Payment is processed by Google Play, subject to Google's payment and refund policies. EXPENDR never receives your card or bank details.
• The unlock applies at the household level: once any member buys EXPENDR Plus, it is active for everyone in that household. It is tied to your account and household and is not separately transferable.
• Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's policies and applicable consumer law. Because Plus is a one-time digital unlock delivered immediately, it is generally non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law or granted by Google.
• Prices may change for future purchases, but a change never affects a purchase you have already made.
• We may add to EXPENDR Plus over time. We are not obligated to add any specific feature, and features may change or be removed as described in the "as is" section below.

06Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app. In particular you will not:

• use EXPENDR for any unlawful purpose or to store unlawful content;
• attempt to access other users' accounts, households, or data without authorisation;
• probe, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or overload the service or its security measures;
• resell or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

07Your data, backups & data loss

Your expense data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) and cached on your device so the app works offline. While we rely on reputable infrastructure, no online service can guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted, or temporarily unavailable.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of access, or inaccuracy of records. EXPENDR is a convenience tool — it is not a system of record for accounting, tax, or legal purposes, and you should not rely on it as your only copy of important financial information.

You can permanently delete your account and data at any time from inside the app (avatar menu → Delete Account). Deletion is irreversible.

08Service "as is" — no warranty

EXPENDR — including the free version and any features unlocked by EXPENDR Plus — is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Features may change, break, or be removed at any time, and we may discontinue the service with reasonable notice where practicable.

09Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EXPENDR and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost savings, lost data, or family or financial decisions made in reliance on the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use EXPENDR in the 12 months before the claim (on the free plan this is zero; if you bought EXPENDR Plus, the one-time price you paid), or the smallest amount permitted by law.

10Termination

You may stop using EXPENDR and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or if required by law. Sections 07–09 survive termination.

11Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Effective" date above will change, and material changes will be communicated in the app or on this page. Continuing to use EXPENDR after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
